A Thousand Pictures has been contracted to produce a series of videos promoting the various leisure activities run by Swansea City Council in their leisure centers. A link to the videos will be up shortly.


February 2011
This month the Children in Wales fuel poverty video 'Keeping Warm This Winter' was launched in the Welsh Assembly by Plaid Cymru Assembly Member Bethan Jenkins. The research, commissioned by Consumer Focus Wales, involved travelling to 6 primary and secondary schools in Wales and captures the views and experiences of young people on the theme of fuel poverty. The young people also provide some key solutions which individuals, households, governments, schools and organisations can do to help keep people warm. More details and the video can be found HERE.


January 2011
The new Arson/Hoax calls DVD produced by A Thousand Pictures for the All Wales Fire and Rescue Service Education Group is now being rolled out to schools accross Wales as part of the Key Stage 3 Curriculum. The DVD is fully bilingual - every scene was filmed in English and Welsh and two separate edits were completed. Click HERE to watch the film.


December 2010
Some great news this month - A Thousand Pictures has been awarded a grant from the Local Investment fund to purchase some new equipment. The grant of just over £5,000 will go towards a Sony EX3 HD camera and a top of the range macintosh computer to speed up our workflow a little. Wayhey!

A Thousand Pictures has recently completed a promotional DVD for the Barnardo's Neville Street Interpreting Service. The DVD will be used by them to promote their fantastic community-based service and gain new clients. Take a look at the video on our website HERE or on the Neville Street website HERE.

The promotional video for the charity Cerebra has now been delivered. Cerebra is a unique charity set up tp help improve the lives of children with brain related conditions through researching, educating and directly supporting children and their carers. Take a look at the video HERE.


May/June 2010
A Thousand Pictures are proud to annouce that we are currently working with Children in Wales. We are producing a video to raise awreness of Fuel Poverty. We will be travelling to schools around Wales speaking to young people about their expirences and opinons on this issue.

We are also completing filming for the brilliant charity Cerebra.


March/April 2010
A Thousand Pictures have completed the filming for The All Wales Fire and Rescue Service. We had a fantastic cast and crew to work with over the 4 day shoot. Huge thanks to Swansea University, Swansea Met Uni Film Department, Go Wales, Mark Jermin Managment, Creative Casting, The Red Cross, Swansea Police, Swansea Fire Service and The All Wales Fire and Rescue Service Education Group, South Wales Fire Service, Mid Wales Fire Service and North Wales Fire Service .

Co-director Rod Thomas will be working alongside Cariff's Techinquest in the following months visiting schools across Swansea to talk about how Science relates to the Creative Industries. He will be visitng many schools....including his old comprehensive...Pontarddulais Comp!!


February 2010
A Thousand Pictures have started work on a video for Cerebra in Pembrokeshire this month. We had a fantastic time meeting the people involved with this brilliant charity.

We are also producing a music video for Welsh Hip-hop label Wonky Wax records this month as well as updating the video show-reel section of the website...keep 'em peeled!

A Thousand Pictures are extremely proud to announce that we have been commissioned to produce a short bi-lingual drama for the Welsh Fire Service

North, South and Mid Wales fire service have combined efforts to fund the short film about arson and hoax calls in schools.

The short film will have it's premier at the National Eisteddfod in August and will be distrubited to schools across Wales.

Ho Ho Ho!!! Merry Christmas!! A Thousand Pictures is currently producing the official Waterfront Wonderland video for Swansea Council. Keep you eyes peeled for it on the big screen screen in Castle Gardens.

The 1st video we produced for Barnardo's has been show this month at National End Child Poverty Conference and Welsh Local Government Association Meeting.

A THOUSAND PICTURES are very proud to announce that we are working with the fantastic children's charity Barnardo's this month. We are producing a video for the fantastic interpreting service for the Neville Street offices in Cardiff.

A THOUSAND PICTURES visited the Welsh Assembly to attend the launch of the Barnardo's video "Hope". The video was produced to aid research about young people living in poverty.

Bethan Jenkins AM (Plaid Cymru) launched the event at the Assembly along side Barnardo's Cymru and the young people from Wrexham who were involved with the making of "Hope".

We are very proud to announce that we are currently working with CEREBRA to raise awareness for the wonderful services they provide for brain injured children and their families.

Fancy a dance? A THOUSAND PICTURES put on thier dancing shoes to film Swanseas finest dance troup GROUNDSWELL in the Taliesin Theatre. "The Main Event 2009 " took place over 2 nights in September!


July 2009
This month A THOUSAND PICTURES captured all the thrills and excitement of the Welsh National Airshow in Swansea. We even managed to hitch a lift on a biplane!! This amazing event was FREE and organised by the City and County of Swansea. Over 10,000 people enjoyed a great family day out.

Our music video for Ian Holloway's "New Seasons" has been selected for the Glyn Vivian Open Gallery this month and will run on a loop until September. The preview is on Friday 31st July at the Glyn Vivian Art Gallery.

A THOUSAND PICTURES is very proud to announce that we are now working with Swansea County Council to produce several videos for the web and the big screen in Castle Square Gardens.

We had a whale of a time filming at the Sea Swansea Festival in the grounds of The National Maritime Museum on the 20th of June and especially enjoyed the Sheppey Pirates and their cannon blasting, swashbuckling antics!

STOP THE PRESS!! The South Wales Evening Post featured an article this month about A THOUSAND PICTURES.

The video "Hope" was produced for Barnardo's Cymru and is due to be shown in The Houses of Parliament and The Welsh Assembly in June.

A THOUSAND PICTURES has been working with Funky Pump Fitness in Swansea to produce a "White Collar Boxing" DVD. The event took place in the Oceana night club in April and was a storming success.

The DVD will include all fights and commentary by Mr. Funky Pump himself Chris Wear.

A THOUSAND PICTURES is delighted to announce that we are currently working with children's charity Barnardo's.  We have been commissioned to interview young adults in North Wales about their experience of living in poverty.

We will be working closely with the young adults as they help us story board, write the script, choose locations and film.  Their input will shape the finished piece.
